Position Overview

We are seeking success-oriented Hydraulic Structures Engineers to join our global team. You will work on a variety of projects involving dams, levees, and civil works in multiple locations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct structural analyses, evaluations, and designs; develop options or recommendations.
• Prepare contract documents, including drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Lead the design of hydraulic structures such as dams, spillways, gates, and related infrastructure.
• Perform engineering assignments requiring critical thinking and creativity, especially for unique structural elements.
• Coordinate structural design with multidisciplinary teams.
• Work independently as project engineer, providing oversight and mentorship, and potentially expanding HDR's structural engineering services.
• Review tasks by others to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Inspect and assess existing structures.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of general Civil Engineering experience.
• MS degree preferred.
• Strong background in finite element modeling and experience with design tools like CAD, SAP2000, LPILE, etc.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of structural engineering experience related to building design.
• PE license.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RAM, ETABS, SAFE, or similar software.
• Experience in design calculations for steel, concrete, masonry, and wood.
• Understanding of gravity and lateral analysis.
• Experience with architectural/engineering firms or consulting.
