Job summary

Larson Design Group, Inc. in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a Senior Hydraulic Designer to support drainage, stormwater, and hydraulic designs for transportation projects.

You will perform design calculations, develop plan sets, and prepare technical reports under the guidance of senior engineers, with a focus on NCDOT bridge and culvert replacement projects. You will use CADD/ORD to produce hydraulic drawings, perform HEC-RAS modeling, review deliverables, and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams

Qualifications

• 2–6 years of hydraulic design experience, preferably with NCDOT bridge & culvert projects.
• Proficiency with CADD / ORD, ORD Drainage and GeoPak Drainage.
• Experience with HEC-RAS modeling.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes CADD and OpenRoads Designer (ORD) to produce accurate hydraulic design drawings and plan sheets.
• Performs HEC‑RAS 1D/2D modeling for culverts and bridges.
• Supports NCDOT bridge and culvert replacement projects, including hydraulic reports and scour analysis.
• Develops NCDOT drainage designs, including storm drain systems and stormwater features.
• Reviews submittals and ensures compliance with project standards.
• Coordinates multi‑discipline drawing sets and supports QA/QC processes.
