Job summary

MathWorks seeks a Senior Security Assurance Engineer to drive our SOC 2 program and manage external audits. You will work with Engineering, IT, Security, Privacy, and Legal to embed controls into everyday operations and improve governance across the organization.

You will lead audit readiness, manage evidence and remediation, and provide practical guidance for control design and testing to achieve certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required with 6+ years in security/compliance.
• Experience leading SOC 2 internal audits and external certification engagements.
• Strong knowledge of ITGCs, application controls, IAM controls, and audit methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with executive-ready reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the external SOC 2 certification effort including scope, readiness, auditor coordination, evidence collection, and outcomes.
• Develop and maintain a year-round audit readiness program for SOC 2 Trust Services Criteria.
• Build and manage audit evidence repositories, readiness assessments, remediation plans, and deliverables.
• Lead internal audits and control testing across ITGCs, app controls, IAM, and security processes.
• Partner with Engineering, IT, Security, Privacy, Legal to embed compliance into operations.
