Job summary

Wafer is seeking a compliance leader to own our SOC 2 program and work with engineering, security, operations, and legal to implement reliable processes. You will drive audits, respond to customer security inquiries, and ensure documentation stays up to date.

You’ll collaborate across teams to define controls, collect evidence, and track improvements in access, devices, logging, incident response, and business continuity. Visa sponsorship available.

Qualifications

• Experience owning SOC 2 Type II audits and ongoing compliance work.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, IAM, data handling, and security controls.
• Experience handling enterprise security reviews with engineering and legal teams.
• Proven track record of taking ownership, solving problems and following through.
• Excellent writing and ability to explain complex systems clearly.

Responsibilities

• Own the SOC 2 audit process from evidence collection to remediation tracking.
• Lead customer security questionnaires and provide clear, evidence-backed answers.
• Maintain accuracy of trust center, policies, and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with security and engineering to define controls and collect evidence.
• Coordinate privacy and contractual requirements with legal and engineering teams.
• Manage vendor security assessments and track risks and actions.
• Create efficient processes that balance speed with commitments.
