Job summary

AlfaTech is seeking a Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our network and server infrastructure. You will manage firewalls, routers, switches, AD, DNS, DHCP, and backups across on-prem and cloud environments, with occasional remote collaboration and a standard 8–5 work window.

The role emphasizes security, monitoring, and mentoring helpdesk staff, reporting to the Director of Corporate IT in a hybrid environment based in San Jose, CA.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining Windows Server environments and active directory.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and security.
• Proficiency with Azure AD and on-prem AD environments.
• Experience with virtualization (ESX) and backup software (Veeam).
• Familiarity with Fortinet firewalls, SD-WAN, and cloud/on-prem mix.
• Understanding of NIST cybersecurity framework and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement network solutions and upgrade existing infrastructure.
• Maintain servers, firewalls, VPNs, DNS/DHCP, AD, and file services.
• Monitor performance, conduct regular security updates and backups.
• Provide helpdesk support and mentor IT staff.
• Document configurations and generate network reports.
