Job summary

Amerisure, a property and casualty insurer, seeks a Claims - Liability Rotational Specialist who can work hybrid 2 days a week. The role manages a rotating portfolio of mid-level to complex auto and general liability claims across jurisdictions, while supporting teams and negotiating resolutions.

The ideal candidate has extensive claims experience, knowledge of tort and coverage laws, and the ability to lead discussions with internal and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience.
• 8 years commercial claims experience including high complexity and severity.
• 5 years handling litigated files and directing outside defense counsel.
• Extensive knowledge of tort, contract and coverage laws in multiple jurisdictions.
• Able to lead discussions and present to a non-technical audience.
• Willingness to travel overnight up to 20%.
• Ability to obtain appropriate state licensing as required.

Responsibilities

• Directly handle an assigned portfolio of mid-level to complex auto and general liability claims in multiple jurisdictions on a rotating basis.
• Provide support to multiple teams to manage claim portfolios on a temporary basis.
• Develop, negotiate, and coordinate resolution strategies to mitigate costs.
• Establish and maintain proper reserves for each claim.
• Report on and present large losses during internal file conferences and roundtables.
• Attend mediations, settlement conferences, and trials.
• Maintain knowledge of multijurisdictional legal developments and trends.
• Assist in file auditing and portfolio closing initiatives.
