Job summary

Amerisure Mutual Insurance Company in the United States seeks a Claims – Liability Rotational Specialist to manage a rotating portfolio of mid‑level to complex auto and general liability claims. This role offers a hybrid schedule with two days in the office and national scope.

You will develop resolution strategies, maintain reserves, support multiple teams, and participate in mediations and trials, contributing to claims goals and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience.
• 8 years commercial claims experience including high complexity, high severity general and auto liability claims.
• 5 years handling litigated files and directing outside defense counsel experience.
• Extensive knowledge of current tort, contract, and coverage laws in multiple jurisdictions.
• Ability to lead discussions, make presentations and deliver technical results to a non‑technical audience.
• Willingness to take on new assignments as required.
• Ability to travel overnight up to 20%.
• Ability to obtain appropriate state licensing as required.

Responsibilities

• Directly handle an assigned portfolio of auto and general liability claims in multiple jurisdictions on a rotating basis through proactive investigation and liability/damages evaluations.
• Provide support to multiple teams to manage claim portfolios on a temporary basis.
• Develop, negotiate, and coordinate resolution strategies designed to mitigate costs in the best interest of the policyholder, agency, and organization.
• Establish and maintain proper reserves for each claim to reflect financial exposure.
• Report on and present large losses during internal file conferences and roundtables.
• Attend mediations, settlement conferences, and trials.
• Maintain current knowledge of multijurisdictional legal developments and trends.
• Assist in file auditing and portfolio closing initiatives to help achieve department goals.
