Job summary

Terrestris is seeking a Senior HVAC Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and Commission commercial/industrial HVAC systems that support U.S. military and federal facilities.

The role demands leading junior technicians, coordinating with Government personnel and other trades, and ensuring compliance with UFC, ASHRAE, NFPA, OSHA, and EPA 608 standards. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of commercial/industrial HVAC experience, including 3+ years with military/federal/mission-critical facilities.
• Experience maintaining HVAC systems in military installations, hospitals, labs, data centers, or institutional facilities.
• Strong knowledge of installation, troubleshooting, refrigeration, electrical controls, airflow, hydronic systems.
• Experience with BAS and DDC controls.
• Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
• EPA Section 608 Universal Certification.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of commercial/industrial HVAC systems on military and federal facilities.
• Diagnose electrical, refrigeration, mechanical, controls, airflow, and hydronic issues using advanced diagnostic equipment.
• Install rooftop units, split systems, heat pumps, air handlers, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and VRF systems.
• Program and calibrate HVAC controls, sensors, BAS, and DDC systems.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize reliability and readiness.
• Coordinate with Government Facility Managers and other trades to minimize disruptions.
• Mentor junior technicians and provide technical guidance on complex troubleshooting.
• Maintain CMMS records, including service reports and equipment history.
• Ensure compliance with UFC, ASHRAE, NFPA, OSHA, EPA 608, and site policies.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies and on-call rotations.
