Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial or industrial HVAC experience.
• Strong understanding of refrigeration systems, including superheat and subcooling.
• Ability to diagnose complex refrigeration system issues.
• Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Understanding of three-phase electrical power.
• Working knowledge of low-voltage controls.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Test and commission custom HVAC equipment before shipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, and control system issues.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and refrigeration prints.
• Verify equipment performance and ensure units meet quality and customer specifications.
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems and VFDs when applicable.
• Work with engineering and production teams to resolve technical issues.
• Document testing results accurately using computer-based systems.
• Assist with process improvements and continuous quality initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior testing technicians as needed.
• Travel occasionally to support field testing or customer needs when required.

We're seeking an experienced Senior HVAC Systems Testing & Commissioning Technician with a passion for troubleshooting, diagnostics, and solving complex mechanical and electrical challenges. This role is ideal for a seasoned commercial or industrial HVAC professional who enjoys figuring out how systems operate, ensuring they perform to specification, and helping develop the next generation of technicians.

What You'll Do

• Test and commission custom HVAC equipment before shipment
• Diagnose and troubleshoot refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, and control system issues

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial or industrial HVAC experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with PLC-controlled equipment
• Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
• Previous supervisory or lead technician experience
• Experience performing start-up or commissioning of commercial HVAC equipment
• Ability to travel occasionally
• EPA Universal Certification preferred
