Job summary

Southern Mechanical seeks an experienced HVAC Superintendent to lead the installation and execution of HVAC systems on multi-family construction projects. You will manage daily field operations, supervise subcontracted labor, coordinate schedules, ensure quality workmanship, and uphold safety standards and building codes.

The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with extensive field experience who can coordinate crews, forecast project needs, and keep projects on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an HVAC Superintendent in commercial or multi-family construction.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, installation methods, and applicable building codes.
• Experience managing multi-family construction projects.
• Proficiency with Procore, Raken and Total Station.
• Experience with underground rough-ins, sleeve layout, top-out coordination, material management and forecasting.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to work within web-based project management systems.
• Valid Driver's License.
• OSHA 30 Certification (or willingness to obtain within 60 days of employment).

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate subcontracted HVAC installation crews.
• Oversee all phases of HVAC installation, including underground rough-in, sleeve layout, top-out, and final installation.
• Verify layout dimensions and measurements for accuracy and quality.
• Maintain daily field reports, labor tracking, and timekeeping using web-based software.
• Track, receive, and manage project materials and inventory.
• Forecast material requirements 2–3 weeks in advance to avoid delays.
• Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, and other trades to maintain schedules.
• Conduct weekly jobsite meetings, safety meetings, and toolbox talks.
• Ensure OSHA compliance and adherence to HVAC/building codes.
• Monitor production, quality, and progress; assist in managing subcontracted plumbing labor as needed.
• Maintain accurate project documentation using project management software.
