Job summary

HTS Engineering Ltd. seeks a Senior HVAC Service Technician to provide service, installation, and maintenance for a diverse commercial client base in Austin, TX.

You will install, commission, troubleshoot, repair, and start up HVAC systems from new facilities to retrofits, and perform preventative maintenance and site surveys. You will act as the main customer contact on projects, ensuring satisfaction by diagnosing and repairing equipment, coordinating with team leaders, and recommending system

Qualifications

• 5+ years of HVAC service experience with split, packaged, DX, VRF, chillers, pumps, etc.
• Ability to operate handheld devices (smartphone/tablet) for service tasks.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the direct customer contact on assigned projects and diagnose/repair equipment on-site.
• Perform end-to-end testing, commissioning, and servicing of HVAC systems.
• Coordinate with team leader to understand on-site requirements and prepare materials.
• Use blueprints/engineerings specs to diagnose and propose retrofits or upgrades.
• Maintain high customer satisfaction and communicate service details and recommended enhancements.

Job description

As a Senior HVAC Service Technician, you will be responsible for providing service, installation, and maintenance to customers in a defined market with a diverse commercial base in the above focus areas. This role involves installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, repairing, and starting up HVAC systems in commercial environments, from new facility set ups to existing facility retro fits. The Senior HVAC Service Technician performs scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance, inspections, site surveys, and service requests including replacement, and modifications of equipment or systems as needed or requested by customers.

RESPONSIBILITES:

• Represents the Company by serving as the direct customer contact and is responsible for servicing products and equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying, analyzing, diagnosing and repairing equipment and systems at customer's location
• Responsible for end-to-end testing, maintenance, starting up, commissioning, and servicing on assigned HVAC projects
• Coordinates with team leader and customer to precisely understand requirements for all on-site installation and repairs by extensively examining building layouts, forecasting issues, gathering materials and synchronizing on-site work
• Uses cutting edge software and technology, along with a variety of hand-tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to diagnose and repair units, as well as propose retrofits, upgrades and or enhancements to existing systems
• Ensures high levels of customer satisfaction. Meets regularly with customers to become familiar with needs and preferences. Keeps customers informed on the nature of service provided, outstanding issues, and recommends system enhancements, upgrades, and or replacement. Promotes the sale of add-on work

Requirements

IDEAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

• A High School Diploma or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience in HVAC service (Split Systems, Packaged Systems, DX Systems, VRF's, Chillers, Pumps, Etc.). or equivalent combination of education (Technical School) and experience
• Operating and working proficiency with handheld computers (I.e. Smartphone, iPad)
