Job summary

Bassett Mechanical is seeking a Project Engineer to analyze customer needs and design HVAC systems for a variety of buildings, from offices to laboratories and manufacturing spaces. You will prepare schematic designs, perform load calculations, and coordinate CAD drawings with project teams.

Responsibilities include preparing construction cost estimates, drafting proposals with scope and costs, and supporting service and ventilation engineering while upholding safety and Lean practices on site.

Qualifications

• BSME or equivalent required; PE or HVAC designer status desirable.
• 5+ years experience in the HVAC industry.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer inquiries to assess HVAC needs and outline the approach.
• Design HVAC systems for offices, labs, manufacturing spaces and warehouses with schematic to detailed design.
• Prepare construction cost estimates with vendor quotes using the company estimation program.
• Prepare and present proposal letters detailing project scope, assumptions and costs; secure customer commitment.
• Prepare and assemble construction drawings and coordinate plan reviews.
• Support service, refrigeration and industrial ventilation engineering needs.
• Maintain a safe and Lean working environment.
