Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma; five to ten years experience and training in the specific area or equivalent on-the-job experience.
• Highest certification in the specific area (Master Electrician or Master Plumber) required.
• Experience with computerized systems and energy management systems.
• Experience as a shift leader or in supervising others.
• Ability to work cooperatively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Good general knowledge of building construction and repair.
• Physical examination required; may require evening and weekend work.

Responsibilities

• Perform full range of duties related to the trade area including installation, repair, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Review and prioritize work orders daily.
• Order parts and supplies as needed for tasks.
• Keep up to date on codes and safety specifications for the area.
• Oversee contractors for inspections and upgrades.
• Assist with planning of new projects and renovations.
• Coordinate and manage small projects; supervise outside contractors.
• Oversee apprentice tradesmen or small crews.
• Perform duties safely and in line with college policies.
• Maintain tools and equipment; perform other duties as assigned.
