Job summary

Stratus is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer (HVAC) for leading technical HVAC design and guiding project teams.Responsibilities include load calculations, equipment selection, duct layout, and ensuring client and regulatory requirements are met.

You will mentor junior engineers, drive design quality, and collaborate with cross-functional teams while managing timelines and budgets. Travel to sites for conformance and commissioning support is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• 6-8 years in engineering design and project management.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Strong knowledge of industrial steam, refrigeration, compressed air and HVAC systems.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and leadership abilities.
• Proficiency in HVAC modeling, equipment sizing, and system layout using Revit MEP or similar BIM tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and analysis of HVAC systems including load calculations and ductwork layout.
• Oversee project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers and review technical work.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Travel to construction sites to verify conformance with design intent and support commissioning.
