Job summary

Willamette University in Salem, OR is seeking a Maintenance Repair Worker II to perform skilled journey-level work across multiple trades, including plumbing, electrical, HVACR, welding, carpentry and machinist tasks. The Facilities Department maintains 1.4 million sq ft across campus and adjacent properties.

The role requires 4+ years of related experience or completion of an approved apprenticeship, with valid Oregon driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, 4+ years experience or completion of an approved Mechanical Maintenance Apprenticeship.
• Proven ability to perform skilled journey-level work across multiple trades.
• Experience with OSHA safety practices and proper tool handling.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and repair building systems such as HVAC, pumps and boilers.
• Perform welding, brazing and metal fabrication as directed.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and maintain repair records.
• Assist ITM contractors and inspectors.
• Operate power tools and maintain inventory of spare parts.
• Work weekends/holidays when required and respond to emergencies.
