Job summary

GDI Ainsworth is seeking aSenior Mechanical / HVAC Estimator within the Special Projects Group in the Detroit area. You will review plans, prepare accurate cost estimates, and craft client proposals while collaborating with the sales and estimating team to deliver value-driven solutions for space requirements.

Responsibilities include bid oversight, CRM maintenance, and developing alternatives to meet client needs. A hybrid work model is offered with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience in HVAC industry; degree preferred
• Engineering or Construction Management degree preferred
• Technical/related degree acceptable
• Detroit area experience preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Proficiency with MS Office, Blue Beam; driving license required

Responsibilities

• Review plans and specs for HVAC projects and assemble cost estimates
• Prepare client proposals and RFP documents
• Coordinate with estimators, subcontractors, and vendors
• Maintain bid lists and CRM entries with timely updates
• Develop value-engineered alternatives for client proposals
• Field bid inquiries and gather project details
• Assist in leveling meetings and client communications
