We offer growth and stability in a dynamic environment. We are seeking a Senior HVAC Design Engineer with a focus on science & technology or healthcare for our New York City office.

As a Senior HVAC Design Engineer, you will work on innovative projects in Science & Technology, healthcare, and Commercial spaces.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the technical development of HVAC systems for large, complex projects in Science & Technology, Academic, and Commercial sectors.
  • Formulating design criteria, performing calculations, developing concept designs, specifications, and construction documents for high-performance building systems.
  • Supervising and managing technical development throughout all design phases, ensuring tasks meet company standards and good engineering practices.
  • Developing mechanical plans, specifications, and inspection reports as needed.
  • Resolving design issues, including field investigations or inspections.
  • Applying knowledge of mechanical calculations, equipment selection, ductwork layout, hydronic systems, and construction documentation.
  • Using Revit to guide and lead design teams.
  • Participating in field visits, developing visit reports, and meeting with contractors.
  • Mentoring junior engineers.

Essential Skills & Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience designing HVAC systems for high-performance facilities.
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience leading HVAC teams on challenging projects.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Background in commercial, mission-critical data centers, or hospitality sectors is a plus.
  • Commitment to sustainability; LEED accreditation is a plus.
  • Professional Engineering license.
