Job summary

A nationally recognized engineering firm seeks a Senior HVAC Engineer to join their Philadelphia, PA office. The role leads calculations, design concepts, and project-level supervision, while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with architects and clients.

Requirements include a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, 10+ years of experience, and a PE license preferred. Proficiency with Revit, Excel, Word, and Bluebeam is expected, with a focus on sustainability and high-quality deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience.
• Professional Engineering license preferred.
• Science & Technology project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineer to perform all calculations, design concepts and supervision of all project level production.
• Direct a team of junior engineers, depending on project size and complexity.
• Understand and maintain production and graphics standards (primarily in Revit) to allow leadership and direction for the design team.
• Assure that tasks are complete, accurate and in accordance with good engineering practices.
• Develop concepts, select equipment, and document infrastructure and utility designs for air and water systems.
• Show knowledge and experience with calculations, equipment selection, air and hydronic distribution systems, heating and cooling plants, and construction documents.
• Attend field visits, meet with clients and vendors as necessary.
• Coordinate specific design aspects with architects, clients, and other team members.
• Help develop and mentor junior and other team members.
• Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects (Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Low Voltage, etc.).
