Job summary

United Utility is seeking a Senior Transmission Engineer in Spring, TX to lead high-voltage transmission line design from planning through commissioning. You will drive technical direction, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, and ensure adherence to safety, standards, and budgets.

The role requires a decade of design experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to mentor junior engineers while interfacing with clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum of ten (10) years in design/engineering of high-voltage transmission lines.
• Strong knowledge of overhead transmission line design principles and industry standards (NESC/NEC/IEEE/ANSI/NEMA).
• Experience leading multidisciplinary projects from planning through construction support.
• Ability to mentor engineers and provide technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering and design of high-voltage transmission line projects from development through construction and commissioning.
• Serve as technical lead coordinating engineering activities across multidisciplinary teams.
• Develop and review designs, calculations, drawings, specifications, and deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with client standards, safety codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with Substation Engineering, P&C, Civil/Structural, and other stakeholders.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance to staff.
• Travel up to 20% within North America.
