Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced designer for HV substation projects in a hybrid work environment (office and remote). You will prepare wiring diagrams, schematics, and cable schedules based on input from design engineers and vendors.

Ideal candidates have 12+ years in HV substations (138 kV+), an associate degree in drafting, and proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation, with a strong ability to visualize in 3D and multi-task across projects.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in drafting or equivalent technical experience.
• Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer.
• Ability to multi-task from project to project.
• Knowledge of design techniques and technical drawing practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare design deliverables: Single Line Relaying & Metering Diagrams.
• Create AC & DC Schematic Diagrams and Equipment Interconnection Wiring Diagrams.
• Develop Cable Schedules and review vendor information for designs.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior designers.
• Conduct walkdowns at client substations.
