Job summary

BETA Technologies in Vermont is seeking a Senior Power Systems Engineer to own the high voltage protection system for our aircraft, from first-principles analysis to certification-ready testing. You will develop models, run tests, and integrate results into aircraft-level simulations to inform design decisions.

The role requires deep expertise in electrical engineering, system modeling, and data analysis, with hands-on experience in DAQ testing and model validation consistent with aviation

Qualifications

• PhD or Master's +5 years in electrical engineering, physics, or related field.
• 5+ years building and validating models in MATLAB/Simulink or Python.
• Familiar with power systems and high voltage protections; HVDC applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop fuse coordination and fault protection models for HV system.
• Design and execute full-scale protection tests with DAQ.
• Build battery and protection models for aircraft-level simulations.
• Collaborate with software, electrical, and systems teams for certification.
• Support certification efforts with data-driven insights.
• Solve problems and improve team effectiveness.
