Job summary

Rivian in Torrance, CA seeks a Sr. Electronics Lab Technician to perform functional acceptance tests on circuit boards and power electronic units.

You will fabricate test equipment, assist in development and validation tests, and troubleshoot complex assemblies on-site reporting to the Lab Operation Manager. The role requires high voltage experience, strong schematic reading, and hands-on fabrication skill in a fast-paced development environment.

Qualifications

• Technical degree in electronics preferred.
• 5+ years of experience fabricating test equipment for high/low voltage power electronics.
• 5+ years of soldering, handling lab equipment and board re-work.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and use data sheets.
• Build electrical test boxes and harnesses from schematics.
• Strong fabrication shop and prototype experience.
• Solder/desolder at component level and use hand/power tools.
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and fast-paced work mindset.
• High voltage safety awareness and hands-on problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate special test equipment, electronic test boxes, and harnesses.
• Design and fabricate simple fixtures and jigs.
• Perform functional acceptance testing of PCBs and power electronics.
• Support development and validation testing of high-voltage components.
• Troubleshoot, root cause, and document issues in assemblies.
• Modify PCB assemblies including soldering/de-soldering as needed.
• Read schematics and use product data sheets for builds.
• Procure tools, equipment, and components for prototypes.
• Set up and use oscilloscopes, power analyzers, power supplies, and DMMs.
• Use thermocouples, RTDs, strain gauges, accelerometers, etc.
• Maintain good housekeeping and safe practices.
