Job summary

Ventura County Human Services Agency is hiring a Human Services Manager to lead administrative and operational services. You will supervise staff, plan strategic initiatives, and evaluate program performance while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver integrated human services for Ventura County.

Ideal candidates drive organizational change, foster inclusive leadership, and manage complex contracts with external partners, ensuring responsive services for diverse communities.

Qualifications

• Extensive professional-level administrative, management, supervision, or lead operational experience.
• Bachelor's Degree and minimum of four years management/supervision in a multi-disciplinary public administrative or human service delivery system.
• Must be willing to work evenings, overnight, weekends, and holidays; travel within and outside the county.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, coordinates, and supervises subordinate staff within a service area to meet agency goals.
• Prepares reports and analyzes financial and statistical data to improve operations.
• Analyzes needs and resources and crafts data-based recommendations.
• Designs work processes and monitors outcomes with emphasis on engagement, DEI, and service delivery.
• Markets services and represents the agency to partners and the public.
• Collaborates with other managers on policy matters and best practices.
• Represents the department in contracts and with external entities.
• May train staff and present informational sessions to internal and external stakeholders.
