Senior Human Resources Generalist — This role serves as a key resource to employees across Mint Cannabis, providing advanced support in employee relations, compliance, benefits, and HRIS management. The Senior HR Generalist mentors peers, leads projects, and supports HR leadership in developing scalable practices for a rapidly growing, highly regulated industry. This position requires managing complex cases, ensuring regulatory alignment across multiple states, and driving HR initiatives that strengthen culture and operational effectiveness.

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Pay Range: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour

What You’ll Do
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, providing guidance on policies, procedures, and employee relations matters.
  • Manage complex employee relations issues, including investigations, performance management, and corrective actions, ensuring compliance with company policy and employment law.
  • Lead compliance initiatives, audits, and reporting for multi-state cannabis operations, including updates to policies and procedures.
  • Oversee HRIS data integrity, reporting, and analytics; design dashboards to inform business decisions.
  • Partner with payroll and finance teams to ensure accurate labor reporting and reconciliation.
  • Administer benefits programs, including escalated cases, employee education, and vendor coordination.
  • Support FMLA and leave management processes, including ADA accommodations and related compliance.
  • Lead or collaborate on HR projects such as engagement surveys, training initiatives, and policy rollouts.
  • Mentor HR team members and provide training/support to build organizational HR capability.
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and workforce planning as needed to support organizational growth.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure all HR practices align with federal, state, local, and cannabis industry regulations.
What You’ll Bring
  • 4–6 years of progressive HR experience, with strong generalist knowledge across employee relations, compliance, benefits, and HRIS administration.
  • Experience in multi-state, highly regulated industries; cannabis experience strongly preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of HR laws, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and partner at all levels.
  • Proficient in HRIS systems; iSolved experience highly preferred.
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) or Google Workspace tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Facility Agent Card (or equivalent) as required by Arizona state cannabis regulations.

A Few Things You’ll Need
  • Regular local travel to retail locations within Arizona; occasional out-of-state travel possible.
  • Ability to work in an office environment with occasional exposure to cannabis plant material.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
