Job description

Lead talent acquisition operations for benefits-eligible hiring at University Housing and Dining (UHD) while supervising a team and guiding HR and hiring managers.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee, coordinate, and ensure timely and accurate processing of customer requests received via the HR ticket system and the University Housing and Dining HR office email, including promptly responding, handling requests, or assigning to the appropriate party.
  • Review and approve Workday business processes related to recruiting, transfers, and hiring transactions.
  • Support talent acquisition team recommendations to department hiring managers across job description review, application review, interviews, employment/reference verification, compensation review, and post-offer hiring procedures.
  • Manage recruitment activities for new employee hiring, including approving relevant selection documentation.
  • Oversee daily operations for a benefits-eligible talent acquisition team, including supervision, work assignment, evaluation, and feedback.
  • Communicate with managers, applicants, and the team to support daily operational decisions.
  • Supervise, manage, and monitor team workload to support delivery against recruiting responsibilities.
  • Partner with leadership and campus teams to identify and resolve problems affecting talent acquisition.
  • Act as an internal consultant by reviewing and recommending department adherence to recruitment and selection policy, procedures, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Assist the Associate Director of Talent Acquisition with monitoring, evaluating, and analyzing recruiting efforts.
  • In partnership with hiring managers and the talent acquisition team, ensure UHD compliance with sourcing, recruiting, and hiring policies.
  • Attend meetings focused on talent acquisition matters and monitor compliance with UT policies and guidelines.
  • Assist in staffing projections, recruitment strategies, market analysis, and compensation analysis.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve internal vacancy trackers and centralized recruiting spreadsheets.
  • Build and analyze recruiting reports to support decision-making and tracking.
  • Create and implement operational efficiencies that improve candidate experience and customer service.
  • Coordinate with the Associate Director of Talent Acquisition and Talent Acquisition Specialists on external job board postings and advertisements.
  • Plan recruitment initiatives for benefits-eligible hiring across the Austin area and on campus.
  • Complete special projects, including disseminating information.
  • Work independently and as part of a team on recurring and nonrecurring projects.
  • Serve as backup to talent acquisition and HR team members as needed.
  • Participate in recruitment activities such as interviewing, job fairs, and sourcing when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in a human resources function.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience supervising a team in a professional environment.
  • 3+ years of experience in talent acquisition.
  • Experience using Workday and/or other ATS platforms managing high-volume, process-driven workflows with multiple approvals, deadlines, and stakeholders.
  • Talent acquisition and/or human resource experience in a university or public sector.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and using operational tracking tools, dashboards, reports, and spreadsheets.
  • Proven success overseeing teams responsible for standardized processes, policies, and procedures in a highly regulated or policy-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with department leaders, hiring managers, and cross-functional HR teams.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, including workload monitoring and deliverable tracking via shared work queues, ticketing systems, or workflow management tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify process inefficiencies and implement operational improvements.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.

Compensation
  • $73,000+ yearly, depending on qualifications
Working Conditions & Schedule
  • On campus; may work around standard office conditions.

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM.

Retirement plan eligibility: Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
