The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Senior Administrative Human Resources Associate in the University Unions department on UT Main Campus. The role focuses on recruiting, onboarding, student employment, and HR processes across the employment lifecycle.
Responsibilities include supporting managers, maintaining records, ensuring compliance, and contributing to process improvements in high-volume HR operations.
Purpose: The Senior Administrative Human Resources Associate manages and performs a wide range of HR generalist functions within University Unions, with a primary focus on recruitment and onboarding for student and non-benefits eligible staff, student employment programs and development, and related HR business processes. This role supports managers and employees throughout the employment lifecycle while contributing to consistent, effective student employment practices across University Unions.
High School Diploma or GED is required, along with at least one year of experience at the Administrative Assistant or Administrative Associate level, including support of human resources or related administrative functions.
Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively with diverse individuals, handle sensitive information with discretion, solve problems, manage conflict, build strong working relationships, and provide a high level of customer service.
A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Experience in higher education, student affairs, student services, or a similar environment is also desirable.
Preferred qualifications include proficiency with HR systems and tools such as Workday, Excel, and DocuSign; experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, employee services, or student employment programs; and familiarity with university policies and procedures.
PHR or SHRM certification is preferred and strongly encouraged.
$52,000+ depending on experience
Regular staff who have been employed in their current position for the last six continuous months are eligible for openings being recruited for through University-Wide or Open Recruiting, to include both promotional opportunities and lateral transfers. Staff who are promotion/transfer eligible may apply for positions without supervisor approval.
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
