Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Specialty Systems Engineering Manager 2 to oversee Human Factors on the Sentinel HSI team. Located in Roy, UT, this role supports a complex weapon system and includes a relocation package as needed.

You’ll lead a team of human factors engineers, establish HFE practices, and coordinate with IPTs, USAF, and executives to ensure usability, safety, and compliance throughout the system lifecycle.

Qualifications

• US citizenship with active Secret clearance.
• Ability to obtain Special Access Program (SAP) approval.
• Experience as CAM/WPL or equivalent and managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with Command and Control systems or ICBM programs.
• Experience with Human Factors in a defense contracting environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of human factors engineers / HSI specialists.
• Plan and prioritize HFE scope, staffing, and budgets with program management and systems engineering.
• Establish and maintain HFE engineering practices, standards, and review processes.
• Ensure designs adhere to MIL-STD-1472, MIL-STD-882 and customer specifications.
• Collaborate with IPTs and external partners to integrate HFE across the system lifecycle.
• Participate in design reviews, trade studies, and risk assessments to advocate human-centered design.
