Job summary

Highgate Hotels in New York, NY, seeks a Senior Human Resources Manager to partner with the Director of Human Resources and lead HR operations for the property. You will handle recruitment, benefits administration, payroll, training, compliance, and employee relations to ensure top performance and guest satisfaction.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience in hospitality, supervisory experience, and a strong understanding of benefits, payroll, and regulatory

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Administer insurance benefits, calculate billing totals, explain benefits, assist with enrollment forms, and answer questions.
  • Compile review list and distribute to departments.
  • Compile Turnover Report, copy and distribute.
  • Enter payroll information on computer (wage information, changes).
  • Conduct prescreening interviews.
  • Respond to unemployment claims, maintain unemployment logbook.
  • Maintain new hire, termination, transfer and promotion logbook.
  • Audit hours worked in payroll reports for eligibility of benefits.
  • Compile wage surveys.
  • Monitor and maintain Leave of Absence log.
  • Monitor Workman’s Compensation claims, complete First Report of Injury and Employers Report of Industrial Injury.
  • Answer questions regarding 401K Plan, vacation and benefits (insured and noninsured).
  • Maintain complimentary room night log, process employee requests.
  • Prepare and place recruitment advertising.
  • Process paperwork for terminating employees.
  • Maintain advertising logbook.
  • Become certified trainer in all HR training modules.
  • Ensure compliance with all HR and related Loss Prevention SOP’s.
  • Participate in Highgate Hotel Enrichment Committee.
  • Schedule Highgate Hotel Orientation.
  • Assist in Highgate Hotel Orientation – explain benefits, conduct tour of property.
  • Write articles and take pictures for property newsletter.
  • Assist with special projects; plan employee events (meetings, picnics, parties).
  • Coordinate Travel Reduction Program, write Travel Reduction Plan, conduct yearly transportation survey.
  • Maintain First Aid log.

Overview

The Senior uman Resources Manager is responsible for assisting the Director of Human Resources with a variety of Human Resources functions. Qualifications

  • Up to 20 days of paid vacation per year, based on classification and length of service, capped at 1.5x annual accrual rate; non-supervisory employees working in the City of Los Angeles accrue up to 22 days of Compensated Time Off, based on length of service capped at 192 hours of combined PST and CTO.
  • Paid Sick Time accrues at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, unused time is carried over from one anniversary year to the next up to a maximum of 80 hours; employees working in the City of Los Angeles are provided 40 hours of Paid Sick Time annually on their anniversary, unused time is not carried over from one anniversary year to the next.
