Job summary

AMETEK, a global industrial technology leader, seeks a Senior Human Resources Generalist in Waukegan, IL to partner with site leadership and employees. The role focuses on talent acquisition, leave management, employee relations, retention, and record maintenance, including compliance and reporting.

The successful candidate will guide managers on employee relations, manage recruiting and onboarding, oversee leave programs, and support performance management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent field.
• 5+ years of HR experience.
• PHR or SHRM-CP desired.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on employee relations, workplace issues, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and policy interpretation.
• Navigate employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex matters to leadership.
• Manage the recruiting process identifying and interviewing the most qualified candidates.
• Complete offer, pre-employment, and onboarding processes for new hires leveraging applicant tracking and HRIS software.
• Manage all aspects of leave, including vacation, sick leave, parental leave, and other statutory or company-sponsored leaves, coordinating with payroll for compliance.
• Oversee performance review processes and coach managers on best practices to support employee development.
• Ensure legal compliance of state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws.
• Create and maintain employee records and files, including personnel, medical, and training documents.
• Assist in developing HR procedures and policies and provide guidance for business operations.
• Participate in development of HR objectives, metrics, and standard reports.
• Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.
