Job description

The role will be based in Delivery stations in Funabashi (Chiba), Sendai (Miyagi), or Kitahiroshima (Hokkaido).

Amazon is seeking a highly motivated, gemba-oriented, scalable HR professional to join the rapidly growing AMZL HR team. AMZL is Amazon's last mile delivery service, which has experienced significant growth over recent years.

The Sr. HRBP, leveraging deep insights from the Delivery Station floor, will collaborate with senior management to develop, implement, and drive initiatives that enhance organizational effectiveness and efficiency. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, increasing workforce capability, optimizing organizational design, providing change leadership, strategic staffing, talent management, succession planning, and supporting daily operations along with ongoing process improvements. The Sr. HRBP will utilize experience and judgment to plan and achieve goals, manage employee relations, coach management, and handle organizational assessments and development. This role involves managing various HR initiatives and company-wide projects such as automation, management training, succession planning, and policy implementation.

Additionally, there will be opportunities to develop junior team members and peers through coaching and mentoring, making this an ideal path for those aspiring to managerial roles.

About the team

You will oversee HR activities across 4 large and 4 mini delivery stations. The 4 HRBPs will report to you, and you will report to the Regional HR Manager, working closely with Sr. HRBPs in other regions.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience
  • 7+ years of HR experience
  • Business-level Japanese or English proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Human Resources Management or related Business field
  • 3+ years HRBP experience supporting business units/functions
  • Experience partnering with leaders in complex, dynamic settings
  • Excellent presentation skills and knowledge of employment laws
  • Knowledge of Japanese Labor Laws
  • Strong business and HR acumen, problem-solving, critical thinking, self-initiative
  • Ability to coach managers in best practices
  • Knowledge of HR functions, performance appraisal systems, HR analytics
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workload under tight deadlines
  • Enthusiasm for working in diverse, inclusive teams
