DSV Air & Sea Inc. Lake City, GA is seeking a Senior P&O Business Partner to deliver comprehensive HR leadership for the Georgia state operations and support the Road division in Canada.

The role oversees hiring, retention, compliance, compensation, benefits, payroll, orientation and training while coordinating with site management to meet local business needs. Onsite, full-time with a strong emphasis on employee relations and performance management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or a related field and 7 years' experience working in Human Resource field required or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Must have strong employee relations and performance management experience - minimum 5 years.
  • Must have strong recruitment experience - minimum 5 years.
  • Must have minimum 2 years freight forwarding/Transportation industry experience.

Responsibilities

  • Implements, interprets and administers personnel and labor relations programs, projects, tasks, or initiatives that align with company goals and objectives.
  • Effectively administers existing programs in accordance with policies and procedures including Equal Employment Opportunity, and Affidamental? Manages monitors and ensures administration and compliance with company policies, practices and procedures that affect the organizational unit such as employee safety, workers' compensation, and OSHA compliance.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to employees, peers, and management on workforce goals and objectives by sharing best practices.
  • Hires, trains, evaluates, and terminates assigned personnel.
  • Manages human resource administration to ensure the effective implementation of procedures regarding new hires, promotions, transfers, leaves of absence, grievance process, and terminations.
  • Manages all specific unit activities including frequent contact with inter-organizational and outside agency representatives concerning operations or scheduling of specific phases of projects or programs.
  • Uses internal‑external customer feedback to monitor the status of projects and to identify problems with work processes.

This is an 100% onsite position, sitting in Lake City, Georgia.

SUMMARY

This position is part of the People and Organizations Team with a particular focus on the delivery of a full spectrum of human resource programs. The HR Business Partner will be responsible for providing HR leadership and guidance to state of Georgia. This position also supports the Road division in Canada. The SR HRBP will oversee the administration of hiring, retention, termination, personnel records, legal compliance, compensation, benefits, payroll, orientation and training as well as additional administrative functions. The SR HRBP will be responsible for ensuring that the needs of the sites are being met and work to appropriate his/her time accordingly in coordination with site management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Implements, interprets and administers personnel and labor relations programs, projects, tasks, or initiatives that align with company goals and objectives. Responsibilities include employment, employee relations, labor relations, compensation administration, performance management, benefits, recognition, training and planning of staffing requirements and workforce communications. Must be visible and accessible. May include site visits at various times of the year.

  2. Effectively administers existing programs in accordance with policies and procedures including Equal Employment Opportunity, and Affidamental? Manages monitors and ensures administration and compliance with company policies, practices and procedures that affect the organizational unit such as employee safety, workers' compensation, and OSHA compliance.

  3. Provides leadership and guidance to employees, peers, and management on workforce goals and objectives by sharing best practices. Provides clear, effective, timely, and constructive feedback on interviewing techniques, effective labor relations, employee communications, new hire orientation, and training programs. Responsible for supervisory training, supervisory skill improvement, and excellence in supervision on a continuum.

  4. Hires, trains, evaluates, and terminates assigned personnel. Provides clear, effective, timely and constructive feedback to employees, peers and management on interviewing techniques, effective labor relations, employee communications, new hire orientation, and training programs.

  5. Manages human resource administration to ensure the effective implementation of procedures regarding new hires, promotions, transfers, leaves of absence, grievance process, and terminations. Ensures that personnel files are properly maintained.

  6. Manages all specific unit activities including frequent contact with inter-organizational and outside agency representatives concerning operations or scheduling of specific phases of projects or programs. Participates in meetings with internal and external representatives concerning specific human resource projects or operations including due diligence and assimilation processes.

  7. Uses internal‑external customer feedback to monitor the status of projects and to identify problems with work processes. Confirms mutual understanding with customers to develop and implement process improvements that improve the quality, quantity and timeliness of assigned tasks.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or a related field and 7 years' experience working in Human Resource field required or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Must have strong employee relations and performance management experience - minimum 5 years. Must have strong recruitment experience - minimum 5 years.

Must have minimum 2 years freight forwarding/Transportation industry experience.

  • Strong proficiency in basic MS Office applications

  • Experience using HRIS systems (SAP Success Factors a plus)

  • Experience using helpdesk ticket systems (Zendesk a plus)
