Job summary

Novo Nordisk A/S in North Carolina is seeking an experienced HR leader to drive people strategy, performance and leadership development across the organization. You will coach senior leaders, partner on workforce planning and lead global employee engagement initiatives to foster a high-performing culture.

The role requires 7+ years of HR generalist experience, knowledge of employment law, strong communication skills and a track record of implementing HR programs aligned with business goals.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7+ years of HR generalist experience, preferably in a multi-shift manufacturing setting.
  • General knowledge of employment law, personnel policies & procedures.
  • HR IT systems knowledge & experience preferred.
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field required.
  • Associate's degree + 9 years HR generalist experience or High School + 11 years experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Coach the senior Leadership Team and managers on HR processes and performance.
  • Partner with leaders to manage organizational changes and workforce planning.
  • Lead global employee engagement survey planning and execution.
  • Drive problem solving and implement sustainable HR solutions.
  • Model Novo Nordisk Way values and develop site leaders.
  • Set strategy, drive continuous improvement and resolve complex issues.
  • Provide training and promote diversity; support new employee orientation.
  • Execute local, corporate and global HR projects.
  • Perform other HR specialist duties as assigned.

The Position

Ensure business success, serving one or more senior leadership team domains by linking people strategy & performance, driving HR programs, & coaching managers/employees at all levels. Lead local & corporate organizational & leadership development programs. Champion the Novo Nordisk Way.

Relationships

Reports to Manager/Director.

Essential Functions
  • Coach the senior Leadership Team (SLT) and people managers to ensure consistent handling, quality & execution timeliness for HR processes, including handling the following: current issues & solutions, change management & communications support, talent management, performance appraisals, individual development plan execution, employee opinion survey results & team development plans, performance interventions, candidate selection recommendations, exit interviews & turnover analysis, new & revised job description process and , and new management orientation
  • Partner with leader to manage organizational changes & to assist with future workforce planning needs
  • Manage global employee engagement survey, planning & execution, assist leaders with the TDP process
  • Lead problem solving and process confirmation, implement identified solutions and ensure they are deployed in a sustainable manner
  • Model and teach the values of the NNWay, to include inspiring & motivating site leaders and employees as required
  • Set direction & strategy, foster innovation & continuous improvement efforts, manage & provide resolution for complex business matters, drive performance including coaching & developing employees, and collaborate across boundaries
  • Provide training & promote diversity, drive the training needs assessment process, participate in & support new employee orientation segments and plan/co-facilitate meetings as required
  • Execute and drive local, corporate & global HR projects/programs effectively & efficiently
  • Perform other human resources specialist duties, including serving in process championship roles, as assigned to support fellow partners & the business
  • Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
  • Other accountabilities, as assigned
Physical Requirements

Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. (% can change on a case-by-case basis based on the role.).

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field from an accredited university required
  • May consider an Associate’s degree in human resources or related field from an accredited university with nine (9) years of relevant HR generalist experience required
  • May consider a High School Degree or equivalent with eleven (11) years of relevant HR generalist experience required
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred
  • Minimum seven (7) years of relevant HR generalist experience required, preferably in a multi-shift manufacturing organization
  • General knowledge of relevant employment law, personnel policies & procedures best practices required
  • HR IT Systems knowledge & experience preferred
  • Effective communication skills (written, verbal and presentation) required, with experience in impact & influence communication preferred
  • Analytical skills required
  • Lean Manufacturing applications in the workplace preferred
  • Proven expertise in organizing information & people from across the organization to develop & implement policies & programs to promote positive employee relations & to support core processes to meet or exceed company business goals required
