About the Role

MWH is currently seeking a qualified Senior Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support our HR operations throughout the U.S. The HRBP will be responsible for managing a strategic partnership between the business and human resources, focusing on organizational strategies and human capital programs that support business growth. This position reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer and is based in our Broomfield, CO office.

The HRBP serves as a consultant to management on human resource issues while managing risk. A successful HRBP balances employee advocacy with organizational interests, assesses HR needs, and partners proactively with HR experts and management to develop solutions. They formulate partnerships across HR to deliver value to management and employees aligned with business objectives, maintaining a good understanding of the company's financial position, culture, and industry conditions.

Essential Functions
  • Strategic Business Partnering: Translates business plans into talent and organizational strategies, influencing workforce planning, total rewards, succession planning, and employee engagement.
  • Client Service Management: Builds trust-based partnerships with internal leaders, understanding their strategy and providing value-added HR services.
  • Leadership Guidance, Development & Coaching: Provides leadership and guidance on employee and organizational strategies, including leadership development programs and coaching opportunities.
  • Performance Management: Guides leaders on performance management processes, employee performance improvement, and succession planning.
  • Employee Development: Advises leaders on career development discussions and leverages internal and external development resources.
  • Employee Relations: Addresses HR inquiries and investigations, ensuring respectful and inclusive work environment, and liaising with legal counsel as needed.
  • Organizational Effectiveness: Guides on organizational design and change initiatives, serving as a change agent.
  • Workforce Planning: Collaborates with leaders on workforce strategies, talent pipeline, and compensation planning.
  • HR Programs: Contributes to HR program development and deployment, including recruiting, training, and benefits initiatives.
  • HR Team Engagement: Provides guidance to HR team members, maintains confidentiality, and promotes effective communication.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish
  • Knowledge of multiple HR disciplines
  • Expertise in coaching and consulting
  • Excellent project and program management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to rapid change and work in diverse environments
  • Ability to travel at least 25% of the time
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Knowledge of EEOC, COBRA, ERISA, FLSA, DOL, FMLA, HIPAA, and related regulations
  • Understanding of US employment practices
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, organizational design, or related field, plus 6+ years' experience
  • Minimum 2 years' supervisory experience
  • Membership in HR or construction industry organizations (SHRM, AGC, Women in Construction)
  • HR certifications (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) preferred

Compensation
  • Estimated $115,000-$135,000 annually, based on experience
