Job summary

Jefferson Lab seeks a senior storage architect to own storage infrastructure for the High-Performance Data Facility. You will lead the design of a multi-tiered, distributed storage system, evaluate vendors, cloud options, and open-source solutions, and develop performance and cost models to guide architecture decisions as the project progresses.

You will define KPPs, benchmarks, SLOs/SLIs, and establish observability while implementing monitoring for design validation and future operations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years IT infrastructure experience.
• 4+ years large-scale storage architecture and design.
• 6+ years in developing, deploying, and testing high performance multi-tiered distributed storage solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of a large-scale, multi-tiered distributed storage system.
• Evaluate vendors, cloud providers, and open-source storage solutions.
• Define KPPs and benchmarking strategies for storage selection and validation.
