Job summary

Cssmerge is looking for an HPC Network Engineer to join our founding team in San Francisco, responsible for designing and managing high-performance networking that connects our GPU compute. The ideal candidate has experience with network deployment and scaling in HPC or GPU environments.

You will also oversee network projects from start to finish and collaborate with vendors to ensure the infrastructure can grow as needed.

We offer a competitive salary range of $224,000 – $284,000 annually, along with equity and bonuses.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, deploying, and scaling networks for HPC or GPU compute environments.
• Hands-on experience managing switches across platforms such as Arista (EOS), Cisco (NX‑OS), Nvidia (Cumulus), and/or SONiC.
• Solid capacity-planning and project-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, optimize, and scale the high-performance network fabric.
• Build low-latency networking for training and simulation workloads.
• Lead network projects end to end, from design through deployment.

Skills

Designing and deploying HPC networks

Managing Arista, Cisco, Nvidia switches

Packet analysis (tcpdump, Wireshark)

Knowledge of public cloud networks (AWS, GCP, Azure)

Familiarity with Python and configuration management
