Job summary

Baltimore City Government seeks a Housing Inspector Senior to inspect interior and exterior of vacant/occupied dwellings to enforce Baltimore City Codes, including health, housing, zoning, sanitation, building and fire codes. This role has no supervisory responsibilities and requires field work across city neighborhoods.

Incumbents operate with moderate supervision, on a 24-hour callback, and must hold a valid Maryland driver’s license with an ICC certification in Property Maintenance and

Qualifications

• Completion of two years at an accredited college or university.
• Two years of experience in housing inspection work.
• Or high school diploma/GED with four years in housing inspection work or apprenticeship + two years experience.

Responsibilities

• Inspect interiors and exteriors of dwellings to enforce Baltimore City codes and ordinances.
• Work with moderate supervision and on 24-hour callback duty; travel across city neighborhoods.
