Job summary

Highgate Hotels' TownePlace Suites Springfield seeks a Chief Engineer to manage day-to-day engineering operations for the Springfield property. You will oversee building systems, safety compliance, and staff performance to maintain guest comfort and asset value.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years in facilities management in a hotel setting, a high school diploma, and HVAC/electrical expertise. You will help manage budgets, safety programs, and vendor contracts while ensuring excellent guest

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of progressive facilities management experience in a hotel or related field; or a 2-year college degree and 1 year of related management experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• License as Stationary Engineer if required by local code.
• HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operations and general maintenance skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing plans to maintain property, equipment, grounds and assets in a safe, acceptable state of repair.
• Ensure the hotel complies with all local, state and federal laws.
• Supervise and train Engineering staff in customer service, SOPs and loss prevention.
• Create and post Engineering staff schedules.
• Create and adhere to annual department budget.
• Participate in monthly profit/loss review meetings.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for hotel equipment.
• Ensure life safety equipment is inspected and certified per Highgate standards.
• Participate in energy conservation programs.
• Review guest feedback and address issues promptly.
