WeldFit, headquartered in Houston, seeks a Hot Tap & Line Stop Technician to lead field projects with minimal supervision, delivering safe, high‑quality line stopping and hot tapping services for pipeline owners and operators.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in midstream oil and gas, strong safety and project leadership, excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to mentor junior technicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or related technical certification preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience safely and successfully conducting hot tap and line stop projects in the midstream oil and gas industry.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large, complex projects or multiple medium-sized projects of high complexity.
• Extensive knowledge of tapping pipelines of various sizes, including anticipating hazards before issues arise.
• Commercial Driver License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform pipeline taps and line stops, up to 48-inch ANSI Class 600, without direct supervision.
• Conduct a Job Safety Analysis with onsite personnel before work begins.
• Comply with safety standards and stop work when unsafe conditions threaten people, equipment, or property.
• Follow standard operating procedures to ensure safe, efficient field performance.
• Deliver services efficiently while remaining within cost estimates.
