Job summary

Juniper is seeking a Direct Goods Buyer to oversee end-to-end procurement of horticultural products. You will develop and execute procurement strategies, negotiate contracts with suppliers, and ensure a steady, cost-effective supply of plant materials.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of horticulture experience in the landscaping industry with progression, including purchasing and leadership roles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe tools, and using mobile devices for work tasks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee plant material purchasing for assigned territory, issue PO requisitions, and ensure alignment with budgets and timelines.
• Negotiate supplier pricing and delivery terms to secure best value and keep estimating updated with price changes.
• Source and qualify new vendors to ensure consistent supply and manage relationships with existing suppliers for reliability and quality.
• Collaborate with logistics on delivery requirements and coordinate with branches on timing and specs for plant deliveries.
• Monitor plant material quality and ensure compliance with nursery or municipal standards; propose substitutions when needed.
• Maintain accurate purchasing data in ERP systems, including lead times, MOQs, and pricing structures.
