The Valley Health System-Ridgewood is seeking a senior Coding Manager to lead the Inpatient/Outpatient Coding staff, overseeing all coding functions and ensuring accurate, timely coding to support hospital documentation and billing. The role requires SME-level expertise in encoder software and coding guidelines.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree, CCS credential, and 3–5 years of ICD-9-CM coding experience with DRGs and PPS. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; CCS credential required.
• 3–5 years experience in ICD-9-CM coding, DRGs, PPS.
• Strong leadership and communication skills; knowledge of encoder software.

Responsibilities

• Manage Inpatient/Outpatient Coding staff and all coding functions.
• Act as SME for coding guidelines and software; ensure timely, accurate coding.
• Meet with coders to summarize audits and update guidelines as needed.
• Assist coding team in researching new coding guidelines.
