Job summary

Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) in Jefferson City seeks an estimate and review engineer to oversee the preparation of highway construction bidding documents and final estimates, ensuring fair market value and adherence to design standards. You will analyze bids, provide recommendations on awards, and act as a technical resource for design details and contract language.

Requires ABET‑accredited engineering degree, Missouri PE license, and at least six years of highway/transportation

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university curriculum.
Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri.
Six years of experience in highway or transportation engineering.

Responsibilities

Schedules, prioritizes, and assigns work to project reviewers and estimators; provides training and development, and recommends employment of staff when vacancies occur.
Performs final reviews and oversees preparation of all bidding documents and final estimates; updates plans and specifications to reflect fair market value.
Analyzes bids and makes recommendations for award or rejection.
Prepares and reviews reports on department bid openings and other bidding/contracting-related issues.
Serves as a state technical resource for final project design details, scheduling and incentive/disincentive clauses.
