Job description

We are seeking a Senior Highway Engineer/Project Manager with 10+ years of professional experience to join H&H's transportation team in Orlando. This role involves leading our engineering team, primarily serving Central Florida, including FDOT, Orange County, CFX, and the City of Orlando. You will act as the main contact between H&H and clients, coordinate with subconsultants, and assist with marketing efforts such as project identification, client visits, proposals, and presentations. A strong background in Florida DOT Districts 2 and 5 design policies and procedures is preferred.

Responsibilities

1. Market services to current and prospective clients, including preparing response letters and technical proposals/presentations.
2. Perform all typical project management duties: scoping, fee negotiations, scheduling, budget tracking, and responding to ERC comments.
3. Assist in coordinating and resolving technical issues.
4. Mentor and develop junior staff.
5. Oversee engineering designs, plan and develop projects, and coordinate project concepts.
6. Create engineering documents such as typical section packages, pavement design reports, and variation/exception reports.
7. Coordinate plans, calculations, and specifications across multi-discipline teams.
8. Perform internal quality control procedures.

Minimum Requirements

1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college.
2. Florida Professional Engineer Registration.
3. Minimum of ten years' experience in transportation engineering.
4. Proficiency in Open Roads processes.
5. Experience with 3D Corridor Modeling is a plus.
6. Knowledge of FDOT Design Manual, plans production criteria, and design standards.
7. Understanding of other transportation disciplines related to roadway design.
8. Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills.
9. Ability to train and mentor entry-level staff.
