Job summary

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is seeking a Senior Highway Design Engineer to lead the design and execution of transportation infrastructure projects in Indiana. You will guide complex projects, ensure safety, efficiency, and sustainability, and apply advanced engineering principles, planning, and collaborative leadership.

Based at INDOT's Central Office in Indianapolis, this role requires a Bachelor of Science in engineering, an Indiana PE license, at least four years of civil

Qualifications

Bachelors in Engineering from ABET-accredited school.
Registered Professional Engineer in Indiana required.
At least four years of civil engineering or related experience.
Valid Driver's License.
Strong knowledge of highway design and standards.

Responsibilities

Plan, manage, and review highway design projects and submittals.
Design and develop plans, quantities, permits, and documentation.
Conduct field inspections and investigations with defined scope.
Analyze engineering data and develop technical guidelines and reports.
Provide technical guidance on roadway design and related areas.
Participate in Quality Control/Quality Assurance programs.
