Job summary

The Idaho Transportation Department is hiring a Transportation Technician Senior for District 4 in Twin Falls, Idaho. This entry-level role starts on the Transportation Technician Engineering Career Path, with wage steps increasing after each milestone.

Qualifications

• 6 months of work experience using construction plans, blueprints, drawings, specs, GIS data.
• Experience providing direction, training, or assistance on engineering or roadway maintenance projects.
• Experience identifying and organizing materials, tools, or equipment for construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Assess contractor activities including inspection, sequencing, schedule compliance, and contract requirements.
• Inspect, observe, and ensure project construction aligns with plans and specifications.
• Maintain accurate daily records of work (labor, equipment, materials).
• Coordinate, perform, and/or supervise technical engineering work in the field or office.
• Compute, check, and verify quantities, costs, and final contractor payments.
• Assist licensed engineers in developing and designing highway construction projects.
• CAD drafting and modeling support.
• Review construction plans under supervision of a licensed engineer.
