Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated in Leeds, AL seeks a Senior Design Engineer (New Product Development) to lead the design of medium- and high-voltage connector systems for the Electric Utility industry. You will advance product development, testing, and production release while ensuring safety, reliability, and standards compliance.

The role requires strong CAD skills, project leadership, and collaboration with marketing, operations, and quality to translate customer needs into robust design specifications

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product design experience in medium/high-voltage connectors or related components.
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage electrical behavior and connector interfaces.
• Experience with design verification/validation tests and lab equipment.
• Familiarity with industry standards (ANSI, IEEE, IEC, NEMA, Telcordia).

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple product development projects from concept to production release.
• Define requirements, lead reviews, and conduct verification/validation for HV connector systems.
• Design products per industry standards and support certification processes.
• Collaborate with marketing, operations and quality to translate customer needs into design specs.
• Develop 3D models, drawings, and simulations to validate performance and manufacturability.
