Job summary

Taara is seeking a Senior High-Speed Photonic Design Engineer to drive next-generation photonic and electronic modules for wireless optical communication. You will own transmitter/receiver architectures and high-speed photonic modulators and detectors, as well as RF/microwave transmission lines within large PICs.

Candidates should have deep 35-70 GHz RF and photonic design experience and tapeouts. The role demands a Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in a related field is required.
• 5+ years of industry experience with photonic circuit designs.
• Expertise in high-speed photonic modulator and detector design.
• Extensive RF/microwave design experience.
• Familiarity with optical modulation formats and link modeling.
• Experience with tapeouts at commercial foundries.

Responsibilities

• Own photonic transmitter and receiver architectures for PIC-based systems.
• Design and layout ownership of high-speed photonic components.
• Contribute to system-level optimization and product strategy.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready designs.
