Job summary

Apple in Santa Clara Valley is seeking a seasoned PCB design engineer to contribute to high-speed, complex boards for consumer electronics. You will collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, and Test teams to deliver reliable, manufacturable PCBs.

The role emphasizes mentoring, process improvement, and adherence to Apple’s standards for DFM, packaging, and cost targets across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of industrial PCB design experience.
• Experience with flex and/or rigid PCB design.
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Study PCB design trends and evaluate processes for Apple core technologies.
• Conduct design feasibility studies for packaging, cost, manufacturing and system performance.
• Assist PCB Designers in resolving critical design problems.
• Train Board Designers in specialized areas of PCB design.
• Develop understanding of Apple’s design standards for Manufacturing and Test.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Product Design, Test, EMC, and Manufacturing.
• Resolve PCB design issues with fabrication and manufacturing vendors.
• Contribute to evolution of Apple’s Design for Manufacturing guidelines.
• Discuss design specifications and trade-offs to meet goals and reduce costs.
