Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. High-Speed Electro-Optical IC Engineer to join our RFIC team in Palo Alto, CA or Redmond, WA. You will design and simulate cutting-edge PIC/EIC blocks for space and ground networks, enabling high-speed data links and advanced optical/electrical integration.

The role requires a strong background in photonics IC design, RF/mixed-signal circuits, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet demanding performance targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science.
• 5+ years of photonics or electro-optical IC design.
• Experience with silicon photonics and RF/analog/mixed-signal design.

Responsibilities

• Design, simulate and model electro-optical building blocks for silicon photonics solutions.
• Derive specifications for Photonics IC and Electrical IC subsystems.
• Develop Analog/Mixed-Signal/RF/Microwave circuits in SiGe or CMOS processes.
• Work with system architects and ASIC engineers to partition functions between hardware and software.
• Perform IC floor planning and layout; model package and parasitics.
