An application made for this job — a tailored resume and cover letter that speak straight to the posting.
Relativity Space is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to lead the design and development of electrical systems for launch and processing facilities. You will apply engineering judgment from early requirements through installation, coordinating across teams to ensure safe, reliable, and scalable solutions.
You will own system requirements, perform analyses, oversee subcontractors, and guide installation, startup, and commissioning with cross‑functional engineering teams at Cape
At Relativity Space, we’re building rockets to serve today’s needs and tomorrow’s breakthroughs. OurTerran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting the growing demand for launchcapacity. But that’s just the start. Achieving commercial success with Terran R will unlock newopportunities to advance science, exploration, and innovation, pioneering progress that reaches beyondthe known.
Joining Relativity means becoming part of something where autonomy, ownership, and impact exist at every level. Here, you're not just executing tasks; you're solving problems that haven’t been solved before, helping develop a rocket, a factory, and a business from the ground up. Whether you’re in propulsion, manufacturing, software, avionics, or a corporate function, you’ll collaborate across teams, shape decisions, and see your work come to life in record time. Relativity is a place where creativity and technical rigor go hand in hand, and your voice will help define the stories we’re writing together. Nowis a unique moment in time where it’s early enough to leave your mark on the product, the process, andthe culture, but far enough along that Terran R is tangible and picking up momentum. The mostmeaningful work of your career is waiting. Join us.
The Launch team operates at the intersection of every major aspect of Terran R, from stages and payloads to ground systems, launch, landing, and refurbishment. The Cape is the only place where you see it all come together, offering a level of exposure and responsibility unmatched elsewhere in the program. This is where first flights happen, where history is built on top of history, and where the scale of what's underway is unlike anything in modern aerospace. The mission stays the same, but the work evolves with every milestone: from first launch to reuse, high-cadence operations, and beyond. If you're looking to define what's next in space launch and write a new playbook, not just repeat what’s already been done, this is where it happens.

Design and provide technical direction for electrical systems across voltage levels ranging from 22.5 kV to 120 V, including power generation, distribution, protection, controls, and sequencing systems.
Own electrical system requirements, design analyses, equipment selection, and technical reviews while identifying and resolving complex integration, reliability, and operational challenges.
Develop and review construction drawings, requests for proposals, bid packages, technical specifications, and bid evaluations, and provide technical oversight of subcontractors throughout project execution.
Lead electrical installation, startup, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities in collaboration with construction, operations, and cross-functional engineering teams.
Partner with management and engineering stakeholders to establish technical approaches, improve design standards, and support the development of future Relativity Space launch and processing facilities.
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field and 6+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
Experience independently developing and delivering electrical system designs using engineering first principles, including requirements development, analysis, troubleshooting, and technical decision-making.
Experience with aerospace, utility, or industrial electrical systems involving power generation, distribution, redundancy, protection, controls, or other high-power applications.
Experience owning electrical projects through multiple phases of the project lifecycle, such as design, procurement, construction, commissioning, or operations.
Experience reviewing technical designs, resolving complex engineering issues, and providing technical guidance to engineers, contractors, or cross-functional project teams.
Ability to communicate technical decisions, risks, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders across engineering, operations, construction, and management.
Experience in the orbital launch industry or hands-on experience with aviation or rocket ground power systems.
Experience designing or commissioning medium- to high-power electrical systems for utility, industrial, aerospace, or mission-critical facilities.
Experience applying NFPA, military, NASA, or similar regulatory and technical requirements to electrical system design.
Familiarity with crane, elevator, or similar equipment involving integrated control and power systems.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?
We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.
Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp .
