Qualifications

• Nationally certified pharmacy technician.
• Registration with Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.

• 6 months of sterile compounding experience and knowledge of aseptic techniques, metric, apothecary weight and measurement conversions, normal drug dosages, routes of administration and dosing schedules.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and distribute medications under supervision.
• Assist department staff with ordering, receiving, storage and monitoring medication use.
• Fill stock orders and prepare unit-dose medications.
• Perform station inspections, restock medications and manage stocking reports.
• Compute dosages and ensure accuracy of calculations.
• Contribute to cost containment of compounded sterile products and assess drug shortage alternatives.
